Ford F150 Raptor - Personal Project

Created as a fast-paced personal project over the course of a single week, this short animation showcases the raw presence and off-road capability of the Ford F150 Raptor. Designed as an energetic, cinematic study, the piece focuses on aggressive camera movement, terrain interaction, and dynamic lighting to emphasise the truck’s power and durability.

The project began with a concise two-page storyboard (shown below), hand-drawn to establish the pacing, shot progression, and overall visual rhythm of the sequence. This early planning stage defined the structure of the animation; mapping out key action beats, camera transitions, and environmental reveals before moving into production. The storyboard pages are included below to show the initial visual blueprint that shaped the final film.

Most of the production was executed in Unreal Engine 5.5, including environment creation, lighting design, vehicle rigging, and animation. Vehicle data preparation and select modelling work (such as custom road and landscape elements) were completed in 3ds Max, while tyre smoke and dust simulations were developed in Blender to enhance realism and physicality. Final compositing, music synchronisation, and colour grading were carried out in After Effects, bringing together the technical pipeline into a cohesive, high-impact visual sequence.

The result is a concise yet immersive automotive study, capturing the Raptor’s performance-driven character through real-time workflows and cinematic storytelling.
